IMPORTANT NOTICE: Recommended Practices for Information Security
Teletrack would like to remind all of our customers about the importance of protecting consumer information. You may have seen news reports of breaches of security at other businesses where consumer information was accessed illegally or without authorization. There are a few steps you can take to help avoid such a situation with your business and Teletrack consumer data.
- Do not display your Merchant Identification Number (MID) or pass code.
- Only employees that require access to Teletrack should have knowledge of your MID and pass code.
- You should implement adequate security measures in order to prevent use or access to consumer information by persons other than authorized employees, including immediately changing your pass code when employees who have had knowledge of your MID and pass code leave your business.
- You should contact Teletrack regularly to change your pass code.
- You should inform your employees that unauthorized access to information in credit reports may subject them to civil and criminal liability under the FCRA and other applicable laws, punishable by fines, imprisonment or both.
- Your Internet connection should be protected with dedicated, industry-recognized firewalls that are configured and managed to adhere to industry best practices.
- Teletrack REPRESENTATIVES WILL NEVER CALL YOU TO REQUEST YOUR PASS CODE. If Teletrack initiates a call to you, we will not request that you provide your MID and pass code.
